Managed by 4th generation winemaker Lionel Boutié and his wife Cathy, Domaine Ricardelle de Lautrec is a pioneer of sustainable viticulture in the Languedoc. For over 20 years the estate has been farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles. Situated in Coursan in the Aude, the 200 hectares of vineyards lie at the crossroads of the Clape, Minervois and Corbières terroirs. An interesting note is that some of these vineyards were once owned by the family of impressionist artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The Scène range of wines, with their painterly labels, pay homage to this historic connection.
Crafted from 100% Chardonnay grapes, this is a white maceration wine, combining the tannins of a red wine with the freshness of a white. It offers great aromatic complexity with fruity and spicy notes. The wine shows great harmony, marrying fine bitter notes from the maceration with fine acidity and a controlled oxidative character that adds to the overall complexity.
These wines are an excellent match for savoury starters, pasta and fish and seafood dishes.
Try with different kinds of tapas or antipasti, shrimp salad or sushi.
