Meet Portuguese wine royalty Maria from the Legendary Luis Pato Winery!
We are very excited to have Maria Pato here to guide us through a tasting of 7 wines from her family’s estate. She is the daughter of the renowned producer Luís Pato, considered an iconic figure in Bairrada viticulture and often referred to as the “King of Bairrada” for his work with the Baga grape variety. Luís Pato, gained international recognition for modernizing wine production in the region and for promoting the Baga grape variety, becoming a worldwide reference in the field.
Although she does not have formal training in oenology, Maria João grew up surrounded by vineyards and the winemaking process, which strongly influenced her career. Over time, she developed her own style, marked by creativity and experimentation. Since around 2015, she has been involved on Luis Pato winemaking process. Together they developed innovations that bring together two generations.
