One of Italy’s most prestigious wines. Very ripe red fruit (raspberries and strawberries) with undertones of earth, flint, fennel, coffee grinds and floral touches that balance the serious, dry tannins. The finish is very long and rather delicate. Drink or hold until 2030.
Pairings: rich, meaty dishes like lasagna, wild boar, slow-braised shortribs, roast duck breast in wine sauce, spicy sausage casserole, meat lover’s pizza, and venison stew. It also complements roast duck, pork, and stews, especially when featuring game like wild boar.
