Filipa Pato Nossa Calcário Tinto is a barrel-aged red wine made by Filipa Pato with the Baga native variety in the DOC Bairrada (Beiras).

The Pato family has been connected to the wine industry for many years. However, Filipa Pato set up her own personal project when she returned from training in the best wineries in the world. She and her husband, prestigious Belgian sommelier William Wouters, began to experiment with new techniques to create their own high quality style.

Filipa Pato Nossa Calcário Tinto comes from vineyards planted in calcareous soils with some stony clay. The vines grow under the influence of the Atlantic climate and are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.

In the winery, the Filipa Pato Nossa Calcário Tinto grapes ferment with native yeasts in open oak barrels, with 20% left with their stems. The wine is then transferred to 500-litre French oak barrels, 30% of which are new.
Filipa Pato Nossa Calcário Tinto 2017 is a smooth red wine with aromas of red fruit, mineral notes and hints of wood. On the palate it is pure, lively and juicy. A well-structured wine with bright acidity and a long finish.

Filipa Pato Nossa Calcário Tinto is a limited production red wine that starts life in calcareous soils. A wine made by a new Portuguese winemaker with great potential. This is a delicate and fine wine that will certainly whet your appetite.
