Gruner Veltliner – Austria

The Gobelsburger Messwein, or altar wine, is the most traditional Grüner Veltliner of the winery. The origin of the Schloss Gobelsburg estate was founded on the necessity to have suitable wines for the liturgy. Chemical or taste-changing additives are not allowed. Altar wine can be produced only with the permission of the bishop. With an alcohol content between 12% and 12.5%, our Messwein is on the same quality level as the classic Kamptal Grüner Veltliner – fresh, easily approachable and pleasant to drink. Enjoy with salads, light vegetable dishes, Thai fare and fish.
