We fell in love with this wine in New Orleans at a restaurant called Hungry Eyes. The winemaker, Jeff Coutelou, is a magician creating wines made strictly with grapes, no sulfer added. Juicy, complex, medium-bodied with crunch red raspberry, holiday cranberries along with beautifully balanced texture and acidity.
This is our top recommendation for anyone who thinks they can’t drink red wines anymore. Open the bottle and let it breath before serving or decant first. That’s the magic — they bloom with some time after opening. This gem can hold up to 4 in the fridge.
Pairings: Grilled Meats, Ratatouille, Hard Cheeses.
