Place: SAG, Hungary
This vineyard is located on a volcanic mound in Southern Hungary. Soils are primarily black basalt and tufa Partially whole-cluster pressed and partially fermented on skins. After nearly a year in barrel, the wine is racked and bottled by gravity without fining or filtration. There are typically less than 600 bottles made each year. “This wine is warm glowing gold in the glass. The nose is cozy and comforting with aromas of dried apple, honeysuckle, candle wax, yellow plums, black cardamom, white chocolate, almond paste, and sweet hay. The palate is rich and tender; it radiates and envelops. It is full-bodied with gentle acidity and surreal flavour intensity. The endless finish includes pear flesh, yellow peaches, oolong tea, dried tangerine peel, macadamia nut, apple blossom, porcini, and birch. It is impossibly complex and satiating.” Juice Imports
