Sourced from Santa Rita’s Alto Jahuel Vineyards, in Maipo Alto, this Cabernet Sauvignon is made by winemaker Sebastián Labbé. “Medalla Real Gold Medal Cabernet Sauvignon seeks to show the riper side of the variety in the Maipo Valley. We push the ripeness with differentiated vineyard management techniques to obtain a lusher wine with black fruit and a friendlier style.” A bottle of Medalla Real Cabernet Sauvignon 1984 changed the history of Chile´s wine industry. This wine outscored 35 Cabernet, including strong French, Spanish, and Californian contenders to become the first Chilean wine to win the Paris Wine Olympics by Gault-Millau magazine.
Notes of dusty, earthy and herbal black fruits; ripe, creamy and structured.
