Managed by 4th generation winemaker Lionel Boutié and his wife Cathy, Domaine Ricardelle de Lautrec is a pioneer of sustainable viticulture in the Languedoc. For over 20 years the estate has been farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles. Situated in Coursan in the Aude, the 200 hectares of vineyards lie at the crossroads of the Clape, Minervois and Corbières terroirs. An interesting note is that some of these vineyards were once owned by the family of impressionist artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The Scène range of wines, with their painterly labels, pay homage to this historic connection.
Fully biodynamic Pinot Noir for less than $30.00 that actually shows classic Pinot Noir character, now that’s something we get excited about! Naturally fermented and aged 12 months in neutral French oak barrels, the Scène 2 Pinot Noir is elegant and inviting. Supple aromas of bing cherry and raspberry are complemented by supple fruit flavors and finely formed tannins. There’s a slight note of clove spice that lingers on the finish. This is Pinot Noir that you buy by the case
