Juanita Roos

My passion, and some would say my obsession, began with co-owning a small 32-seat café in 1987. After taking time off for my other great passion – raising a family – I jumped back into the industry, working as a wine consultant and then as a manager of a fine wine retail store in Edmonton.

I love what I do. What other profession could give me the chance to travel to many wine regions? I have also completed the prestigious WSET Diploma from London, UK which is the prerequisite for the Master of Wine program.

In 2014, my two great passions came together. I opened a fine wine and spirits store with my family. Oh, and my family are food and wine enthusiasts too… of course!

Kelsey Roos

I love cooking, wine and entertaining… so it simply makes sense that I also love helping you pick the perfect wine for your meal. I also find great joy in sharing my new favorite bottle. (And with so many great wines in our wine, beer and spirits store, it’s very easy for me to find new favorites all the time.)

It’s fantastic to be working with my mother, who has such an incredible knowledge of wine and a nature talent for customer service. Seriously. She gets invited to our customers’ weddings and other important occasions all the time!

What I bring to the family business is everything I learned when completing my degree in marketing. I’m am also following in my mother’s footsteps in the pursuit of a Master of Wine Diploma.

When I’m not at the store, you can find me chasing around my two sons, Luca and Oscar.

Paul Kohl

Paul’s involvement with Color de Vino started after a conversation with Juanita several years ago over his passion for wine and his fast approaching retirement from a long career supporting individuals with disabilities and their families. The opportunity to continue his passion in the field was suggested, and the end result, Paul is now on his second year with us! Paul has been both an imbiber as well as a student of wine since his days in University. He has travelled to various wine regions around the world, made wine his hobby, and taken interest in wine courses. He has completed the Advanced WSET certificate and the French Wine Scholar certificate

Don Roos

Don is a huge contributor to the Color de Vino family and a man of many talents. You have seen Don’s work as he is the co-creator of the wine racks and shelves in the store!

Bill Medak

Since the early 70’s, Bill has been passionate about food and wine. He learned, grew and nurtured that passion within Edmonton’s Food & Beverage industry for many years and could apply that learning to many wonderful positions along the way: he was Food & Beverage Manager with the Edmonton Queen, Casino Edmonton and The Derrick Golf Club; wine manager with Cristall’s Wine Market, City Cellar and Unwined. Bill has studied with both the ISG and WSET and holds a Certificate of Proficiency of Italian Wines.

He is a proud member of Color de Vino’s staff and a master at food and wine pairing.

Bruin Roos

Bruin is a familiar face at Color de Vino and an avid seeker of passerbys on Whyte. Everyone loves Juanita’s four-legged friend and he’ll happily greet you when you visit! The store has a wide range of treats for other friendly four-legged friends!
