Scheurebe, Portugieser and Regent

9.5% ABV

Tasting Notes: Tart and crisp cherries, pomegranate and cranberry notes characterize this red.

Vinification method: essentially the red version of Weiss. This wine is a “single vineyard cuvée” as it consists of all the grapes from this one amazing vineyard site (per Alanna, a massive 2ha vineyard plot in the middle of nowhere). The soil is heavy clay limestone, think Jura.

The blend is mostly Scheurebe, Portugieser and a bit of Regent. They applied the same logic as the Weiss and harvested everything separately and applied various different fermentation methods, some maceration and also some direct press. Left it in barrel for a year and blended one day before bottling.
