CHATEAU FLEUR HAUT GAUSSENS 2018

Malbec “ La Viminière ” is one of the single-varietal wines of Château Fleur Haut Gaussens. Coming from an early terroir, this 100% Malbec is the result of a new approach to plot selection and modern winemaking .

The nose is very pure , with aromas of black fruits that intertwine with a precisely measured woodiness that is atypical for the region. The elegance of the tannic structure stands out and gives the finish complexity and persistence. Aging potential +/- 10 years.

2018, a surprising vintage!
For its 3rd vintage, 2018 is a surprising vintage . The vineyard was marked by very strong mildew pressure. The weather was very unstable until summer. It changed completely from August to October, which ensured a quality harvest . The use of a densimetric bath sorter in the winery reinforces the precision of the selection of berries at harvest reception. A sunny vintage like 2018 ripened the Malbec well, and “La Viminière” is a real success .

Crushed tobacco, blackberries, pepper and blueberry delight your senses. The palate has density and richness with a very nice acidity that helps keep the balance.

Aging : 5 months in new French oak barrels.
