EVENING LAND SEVEN SPRINGS CHARDDONAY

Our Seven Springs Chardonnay comes from a unique section in the south block of our estate vineyard. This high elevation block has excellent soil drainage and exposure to the cooling influence of the Van Duzer Corridor. The wine underwent whole cluster pressing before being racked to once-used french barriques and Stockinger puncheons for fermentation. The wine completed 6 months élevage in barrel and 1 month in tank prior to bottling.

Four decades in, Seven Springs Vineyard shows increasing promise for fine Chardonnay. A light-green hue with hints of trapped CO2 in the glass, the 2022 estate bottling is seamless in its presentation of crunchy white peach, Granny Smith apple, salty chalk and almond aromas. Generous and expansive with a core of tree fruit and bracing acidity, well-timed lees influence adds to an immensely textural wine.
