La Ferme du Mont is the passion project of Stephane Vedeau who cultivates some 50 hectares of grapes in various spots throughout the Southern Rhône. All vines are cultivated without the use of pesticides and chemicals. Each site is meant to be the truest reflection of the terroir and the grapes they produce. The Gigondas comes from two specific soils types: the first is from 60 year old vines on fractured limestone and red clay and the other is Jurassic limestone from a higher altitude site sitting at 600 meters right in the shadow of the Dentelles de Montmirail. The blend is made up of Grenache and Syrah with a splash of Mourvedre, and is aged for 18 months in a mix of oak barrel and concrete tanks.
