Winery notes:

A FRUIT-DRIVEN MUSCADET SÈVRE ET MAINE SUR LIE
Plessis-Duval Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur Lie is an expressive wine brimming with the delicious flavours of the Loire valley. It is made from Melon de Bourgogne (a grape variety typical of the Pays Nantais area), with the grapes picked at optimum ripeness to give the wine its fruity aromas, while a rigorous winemaking process results in a refreshing wine with silky, intense aromas.

This remarkable wine has a golden-green hue and a subtle nose of fresh fruit and white blossom. Its opens with distinctive citrus notes and then develops a gently mineral character. Enjoy it throughout your meal, from starters to dessert: pair it with chilled entrées served in small verrine glasses, or a risotto, for example. It also makes chocolate-based desserts sing.

A LITTLE HISTORY
The Muscadet Sèvre et Maine appellation takes its name from two rivers, the Sèvre and the Petite Maine, which run through some of the most prestigious vineyard sites of the Nantes region. Linked to this AOC is the appellation of Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur Lie: it refers to a specific winemaking technique which gives the wine texture, aromatic richness and elegance. To qualify for this second, complementary AOC, the wine is kept in tank on its lees (the yeast deposit found at the bottom of the tank) for around six months, prior to bottling.
