TAILGUNNER JOHNNY LAKE WEST COAST IPA X4

$18.20

This wintry warming IPA uses Alberta grains and freshly harvested Ontario-grown Cascade and Centennial hops from our friends at Highland Hopyard to form a 100% Canadian hoppy beer experience.

Positioned in a glass turret with two 50-inch machine guns on top of the aircraft, Johnny Lake was the mid-upper gunner on Lancaster ED976. Both he and Lint Stephenson, the tailgunner, were vulnerable to enemy fire and freezing temperatures. Responsible to defend the aircraft, each gunner would instruct the pilot, Red McGil, on evasive maneuvers, while giving the enemy What For! Johnny Lake gave his life during the Second World War; he was 21 years old.
